Who’s Who Wednesday :: Meet Our Summer Intern, Olivia!

Happy Wednesday, everybody! It’s the middle of the week and what better way to get to the weekend faster than to be introduced to another member of our DSS team! This week, I’d like you to meet Olivia, our summer intern! Last year, Olivia was the Special Events Coordinator for her sorority, planning all of the Greek Week and Homecoming events for her group. She fell in love with the planning process, and the rest is history. Her favorite part of working the day of a wedding is getting to spend time with the bride and her bridesmaids. She loves hearing how the couple met and the story of how they got to their special day. Her piece of advice for brides is to keep things in perspective; if you’re stressing over a small detail, think about if you’ll remember that detail in 10 years or if your guests will notice it.

Thanks for reading, and keep an eye out for Olivia in future DSS posts and pictures! See ya’ll on Friday for Friday Favorites… I wonder what this week’s pick will be?

Who’s Who Wednesday :: Meet Your New Blogger, Devany { Savannah Wedding Planner }

Hey Everyone! I’m Devany, and I’m your new blogger for Design Studio South! I’m so excited to join the team here at DSS and bring you the latest in everything wedding related. A little bit about me: I’m originally from Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Johns Hopkins University. I first started in wedding planning because I *love* seeing two lives come together in such a magical way, and then I fell in love with the planning process too! Fun fact: I love dogs (and cats), especially Corgis and Australian Shepherds, and as soon as I’m able I’m going to become a dog foster mom.

The team here is gearing up for a busy summer and an even busier fall, so check back frequently for updates.

“Justin and Amanda are southeast wedding and lifestyle photographers living, working, and playing in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. Did we also mention that we design wedding invitations? No? Oh, we do that too! We feel pretty lucky to work with awesome people (yeah, you!) who love to create just as much as we do.
We are obsessed with moss, nature, shadows, light, texture, smiles, oversized balloons, mason jars and love. If you’re looking for someone to force you to smile as you FINALLY get to have a bite of your reception dinner, or make you pose like your mother in her 1981 wedding photo, we should probably end it right here. We’re The Happy Bloom. It’s 2014. Let’s do something awesome!
Becoming friends with our clients is one of the most cherishing gifts we receive as photographers. We truly believe that this is what makes our photos genuine. Because of this, an engagement session is our gift to you. We want to get to know you, and for you to get to know us. After all, we’re going to be with you during your entire wedding, so lets be friends…. friends with really, really, really nice cameras. ” – The Happy Bloom
